History & Meaning
Hanuman Jayanti is the birthday of Lord Shri Hanuman and it is observed on the full moon (Purnima) day in the Hindu month of Chaitra (March – April) as per traditional lunar Hindu calendar. Lord Hanuman is also known as Bajrang Bali and Anjaneya and is one of the most popular forms of God in Hinduism. He is a Chiranjeevi – one blessed with immortality.
Throughout the Ramayan one observes that whenever a vexing problem arose warranting diplomacy, Valmiki lauds Hanumanji as a confluence of such virtues as: integrity, valour, intelligence, strength, patience and wisdom.
The greatness of Hanumanji can be read in the Ramayan and undoubtedly there has never been a greater Bhaka who walked on this earth other then Him. In this way, Goswami Shri Tulsidas composed the Hanuman Chalisa in praise of Him and this is regularly recited on Tuesdays and Saturdays by bhakta’s and worshipers alike.
Jai Shri Hanuman! |
